TERA is a powerful call to action, not for isolationism or populism, but for a united and expanded Europe that leverages its strengths on the global stage.
Europe has been a global leader until the beginning of the 20th century. A certain decline has followed, linked to different factors.
Face to raising of new global powers, Europe must recover a stronger position in the global economy, culture, political influence. Neither a “Small” Europe, nor a “Mega” or “Giga” Europe, but a TERA Europe!
A TERA Europe: Expanding the European project, strengthening ties with neighbouring like-minded countries, and fostering a sense of shared identity and purpose across the continent.
A Europe of Innovation: Leading the world in scientific research, technological development, and sustainable solutions.
A Europe of Cooperation: Fostering strong partnerships between member states, sharing resources and expertise to tackle common challenges like climate change and economic inequality.
A Europe of Global Leadership: Championing human rights, democracy, and multilateralism, while deepening alliances with trusted partners around the world.
A Europe of Security: Bolstering European defence capabilities and cooperation to ensure the safety, security and protection of its citizens and Member States
A Europe of Sustainability: Investing in green technologies, renewable energy, and circular economy models to create a prosperous and environmentally responsible future.
A Europe of Competitiveness: Promoting a dynamic and competitive economy, supporting entrepreneurship and innovation, and ensuring that European businesses thrive in the global marketplace.
This is not a pipe dream, but a vision built on Europe's existing strengths - its highly skilled workforce, its world-class research institutions, and its commitment to social justice.
Europe must react. Europe must stop criticizing without proposing concrete alternatives. Europe must be ambitious, take some risks, and become again a global force.
